Constitution

Name and Purpose

1. The name of the club is Make Time Skateboarding Collective also known as MT:SC.

Objectives

The objectives of MT:SC is to support the core skateboarding community in North Devon. Key principles and objectives as follows:

1. Bring North Devon skaters together and promote a sense of community
2. Ensure safe and inclusive environments to skate
3. Develop an environment where members can progress at any given level
4. A platform and voice to engage partners and bodies to provide year round opportunities to develop skateboarding within the local North Devon area

Governance

1. The club shall be governed by a committee consisting of the following officers – Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Safeguarding Officer.
2. The committee shall meet monthly to discuss club matters, make decisions, and plan activities.
3. The affairs of the club shall be managed by the committee and shall, subject to the provisions of these rules, have full executive and administrative powers in relation to the conduct and control of the Club.

Membership

1. Membership is open to individuals who actively are and want to be part of the North Devon skateboarding community.
2. Membership fees and requirements shall be determined by the committee depending on funding outcome – the ambition is to gain funding to ensure free access.
3. Age will be restricted to 7 plus, those under 16 will need to have parental consent to join.
4. All MT:SC members should understand the risks involved (serious injury/death).
5. By being a member of the MT:SC, you agree to accept responsibility for your own actions and involvement.
6. Members must adhere to the club’s rules and regulations as outlined in the constitution or risk their membership being terminate.

MTSC Club Rules

1. No alcohol or drugs permitted at MT:SC organised skateboard activity or events.
2. For any paid event anyone under 16s will be required to have parental consent to confirm they accept responsibility.
3. The Committee may unanimously and for good reason terminate the membership of any individual, provided that the individual concerned shall have the right to be heard by the Committee, accompanied by a friend or representative, before the final decision is made.
4. Members under 16 will need to wear protective equipment when taking part in any MT:SC organised activity.

Financial Management

1. The Treasurer shall be responsible for managing the club’s finances, maintaining accurate records, and presenting financial reports at committee meetings.
2. Financial decisions shall be made collectively by the committee.
3. All profits of the Club are to be retained by the Club and used in the advancement of the Club’s registered objectives and are not to be distributed amongst the Members.

Meetings

1. The club shall hold regular meetings to discuss club activities, plan events, and address any issues.
2. An Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held once a year to elect officers, approve accounts, and make any necessary amendments to the constitution.

Amendments

1. Any proposed amendments to the constitution must be submitted in writing to the committee.
2. Amendments shall be approved by a majority vote at an AGM or special meeting called for that purpose.

Dissolution

1. In the event of dissolution, any remaining assets shall be donated to a charitable organization with similar aims and objectives as the club.
2. The committee shall oversee the dissolution process in accordance with legal requirements.
